Thank you for visiting FibreSpeed’s website.

The FibreSpeed business within the Geo group is the result of a unique collaboration between the Welsh Assembly Government and Geo, the UK’s leading dedicated fibre network business.

The business has its origins in the desire of the Welsh Assembly Government to invest in critical new communications infrastructure to position Wales at the heart of the UK’s economy. The FibreSpeed project was conceived in order to construct a new world class optical fibre network, starting in North Wales, and then to deliver services to the market using the “open access” networking model where the goal is to maximise the use of the infrastructure – not restrict access to one company and keep prices high.

This is where Geo stepped in. Having already launched open access networks nationally in the UK and, using the sewer network, in London, Geo understands what it takes to bring such a business to market.

The result is FibreSpeed: a company which sells exclusively to service providers in the communications industry at prices comparable with the most competitive parts of the UK, bringing innovation and service excellence to Welsh businesses at affordable prices. These services range from dedicated optical fibre and co-location through to managed fixed and wireless services.

I am very excited about this innovative and important new business and to seeing it continue to add huge value to the Welsh economy in the years ahead.
