Executive Team

Mike Johnston

Mike joined FibreSpeed in August 2007 at its inception when the Welsh Assembly Government chose FibreSpeed to deliver their Open Access network. As Project Director, Mike has overall responsibility for the Operational Management of the business, leading the network build, operations and sales functions within the business.

Before joining FibreSpeed, Mike worked as a Programme and Project Manager at Global Crossing UK delivering network build projects and managed services solutions for a wide range of customers in the Commercial and Government sectors.

Mike is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and holds an MBA. Earlier in his career, he served for 10 years in the Army, with the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
